Wooohooo! And what did they say about the Titianic?
how's the driver?
@4cellar2door0 Surely the likelihood of a nuclear fuel flask in the UK ever being hit by a supersonic aircraft was next to zero, whereas travelling by rail, there was at least a possibility it might be hit bya fast-moving train. Testing for the possible is logical; testing at vast expense for the infinitely improbable is not. Regardless of I.Q., unnecessary use of foul language and insults creates an impression of ignorance, of civilised discussion if nothing else. Not impressed.
Music Rocks!!
@danlefou Considering my I.Q. is Mensa level, I would say your little fucking theory about the correlation between swearing and intellect is completely void.
2nd, nobody gives a shit if they were retired, that doesn't have anything to do with my point. My point is still 100% valid.
3rd, nobody gives a shit what altitude they flew supersonic at.
4th, nobody gives a shit whether it's a fighter or a recon aircraft, since I'm talking about crashing and not combat.
Nice attempt to dodge my point.
@4cellar2door0 The SR-71 goes nowhere these days (they were all retired years ago) and they only flew supersonic at considerable altitude. Besides, they were reconnaissance aircraft, not fighters. The less they know, the more they swear.
@MrBabblebabble Actually, no it fucking doesn't.
I guess you don't realize how fast a fucking fighter jet can fly.
The sr71 blackbird is 172,000 lbs, and flies 2,200MPH.
Are you REALLY trying to tell me that's a smaller impact than a 500,000lb train traveling about 100mph?
If so, you need to go back to school because you are 100% retarded.
The jet impact would be INFINITELY more destructive.
You're wrong, period.
@Mrbestofbest333 If a nuke was dropped, no-one would be around to CARE whether it leaked or not! The possibility of these things ever being blown up was nil, but they might have been involved in railway accidents.
they should drop a nuke on that thing and see what happens
Couldn't we just try blowing it up?
@jordiamor That conflicts with all reports from the CEGB and with the video evidence, which undeniably puts the speed at rather more tnan 90. A former driver told me a "Peak" with a light train could easily reach 100 mph, and they often did when making up time.
@JayDub1017
it was me...... and still recovering form crash!!!!! :)
@danlefou
as found on wikipedia (search for "British_Rail_Class_46")
on 17 July 1984,
46009 <--(The locomotive of the test) was deliberately crashed into a nuclear waste flask at about 90 mph (145 km/h) on the Old Dalby Test Track in a test organised by the CEGB. It demonstrated to the public that there would be no leak of radioactive material in the event of a rail accident involving a train carrying a nuclear waste flask.
@jordiamor Timed from the video as passing the end of the platform in 1.75 seconds, the 258-foot train was doing 100.7 mph. Radar speed checks also gave about 100 mph, as did the A.S.I. in the JetRanger helicopter pacing it..
@theredkni463
you right. it was +/- 90 mph
sorry it was @ 90 mph
@CheckEngine99 Crash testing toxic cargo containers for leaks is STUPID?? Similar tests were done in the USA, on a road-transported flask with a rocket-powered locomotive!
british as always doing stupid things
thats why i sit in the back...
PWNAGE
OMG, the Nuclear Flask Container died?
yeah I use one to store my booze in.
Ah ...the good old British Rail days when they had cash to spare for fun !!
Dear:Music Listeners
On September 1st we will all be visiting Justin Biebers "BABY" video
which has over 240 million views.
On that day everyone must leave a negative comment and dislike the video.
Help us destroy the little idiot's music for good. The goal is to make the dislike bar bigger than the like bar. JOIN US!!!!
Copy and paste this to other vids, anything better than him, (so basically, everything)
