It's not that hard to tell that this is really similar to Dani California, but it's not the chords alone that make it sound so damn close (Green Day's 21 Guns and Sum 41's Pieces use the same chords but don't sound all that similar). It's that little 1-2 before the drawn out chord that makes them scarily similar. Usually those are the small details that differentiate songs that even have the exact same chords. RHCP wasn't stealing it imo, Petty himself said he doesn't think so. Both great songs!

I'ts an amazing song (one of the very best TP songs) with great and really touching lyrics, but this video is just bizarre.
